Norcross (Ga.) Greater Atlant
One of the top prospects on the Michigan State recruiting board for the class of 2017 is Norcross (Ga.) Greater Atlanta Christian quarterback Davis Mills. The 6-foot-3, 188-pound Mills is one of the top rated pro-style quarterbacks in the nation for the class of 2017.
Rivals.com ranks Mills a four-star recruit, the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the nation and the No. 52 player overall for the class of 2017. He holds a long list of scholarship offers that include Michigan State, Michigan, UCLA, Stanford and a host of others BCS programs.
Earlier this fall, Mills was able to travel to Michigan to check out both U-M and MSU. He was in Spartan Stadium for the big win over Oregon.
“The schools I’ve seen are Michigan, Michigan State, Miami, UCLA, and am planning on visiting Stanford in November,” Mills said. “Recruiting wise, I plan on narrowing it down shortly after the season and hoping to make a decision sooner than later.”
The Spartans have done a nice job of recruiting Georgia under Mark Dantonio and much of that is due to the relationships that co-offensive coordinator/running backs coach Dave Warner has developed with high school coaches over the years.

“I am definitely very interested,” he said. “Coach Warner and I have been keeping in touch. And yes, the Big Ten is definitely a conference I could see myself playing in.”
The fact that Warner is the offensive coordinator and was the quarterbacks coach once before should be a positive for Mills. It also does not hurt that the pro-style offense that MSU employs is a good fit for a player with Mills’ skill set.
Mills does have family ties to MSU. His father, Steve, is a Spartan graduate from the class of 1983.
Look for MSU to invite Mills back up to campus later this winter. It is possible he could come up for a weekend and not only spend time building more rapport with the coaching staff, but also watch the basketball team play.
